The Plot:
Villains are destined to die written by Gwon Gyeoeul and manhwa artist SUOL, is a isekai story following the girl, Siyeon Cha escaping from her horrible life in her family home and discovering the romance otome game 'Daughter of the Duke- Love Project!'. Becoming instantly obsessed Siyeon Cha finishes all the good endings and acquires the perspective of the hated secret adoptive child/villainess, Penelope Eckhart. Despite Siyeon Cha gracefully completing all the good endings without a hassle, Penelope Eckhart's routes were a challenge. No matter what Siyeon Cha did, would either end Penelope's life or get her slaughtered by one of the love interests. This made her exhausted and decide to take a rest, however who knew that this rest would change her fate and become the girl that exhausted her the most, the villainess Penelope Eckhart.

Hi everyone!! Right now I have been updating on my blog as much and I just wanted to let you know, it because I have not been reading any manhwa ever since I picked up MDZS (I'll do a review on this when I'm finished, I am currently up to chapter 64) :(. I also have been a bit busy lately, I went on a trip to New South Whales and school is giving me piles of work to do. Good news though is that I am not stressed like I was in the past year, so I think that's a good thing. Hopefully I get to read some manhwa's soon and discover ones that aren't romance hehe. Anyways I hope you enjoy this review, this is a old manhwa I read and it truly opened up my eyes to the villainess space.
Discovery and Character Design:
I discovered the manhwa version to this when I was in grade 7. Back then I had nothing better to do, other then sitting and reading all day. I believe this was my first every villainess manhwa at the time and I think it was a good choice too. I don't really know how to explain it, but this manhwa rhad a chokehold on me and still does. Escaping to a life of otome games, reminded me what I was like in primary school. Back then I would fawn over romance stories, especially vampire ones. My favourite one though has to be Mrs Detective and Dangerous Fellows (I could do reviews on them) The way the story lines were like and the protagonist in Ms Detective being such a amateur detective made me enjoy playing. However I hated when It came to having to buy outfits or story tickets just to continue or get a better route, like I am not a dedicated person and surely was not when I was younger. Anyways Penelope Eckhart really piques my interest.
Penelope Eckhart:
Penelope Eckhart the pink hair villainess, originally in the daughter of the duke- love project! Was described as a person who had the worst negative reputation throughout the family. Whenever she was angry she would have large outburst and threaten other nobles, making her banned to go to any social gatherings. Due to this she earned the title of 'mad dog'. Beneath she was a misunderstood women. After Siyeon Cha gets into the body of Penelope Eckhart, she soon realises just how abused Penelope was. Like all protagonist of a villainess role, she soughts to escape death and get back into the real world. Playing the person as a wicked villainess, yet was able to escape scenarios that would lead her into danger. She then finds the four male leads.
In penelope's family there is three people, the duke, Reynold Eckhart the younger brother and Derrick Eckhart the older brother. In the original if you were to get any Reynold or Derrick's routes you would be gifted a perfect family rather than a love interest playing as the missing daughter of the duke, Yvonne. With Penelope they are originally more distant and have a sense of disdain towards her. Reynold is just a brat and Derrick thinks hes some law abiding citizen that loves to just punish my girl. (I hate Derrick) Reynold has light pink hair and has a more laid back attitude than Derrick who has black hair. The duke looks a lot like Derrick.
The love interest:
In the manhwa their is five love interest, the younger brother, Reynold older brother, Derrick the wizard marquis, Winter Verdandi the hot tempered crown prince, Callisto Regulus and the slave knight Eckles. All four love interests were very easy to acquire in Yvonne's perspective, however for Penelope's it was the opposite. The marquis, is a very quiet person often shown as very gentlemen like (reminds me of... Ikki from amnesia) He is very nice and holds a secret, that no one knows. Callisto Regulus often described as handsome carrying a psycho attitude. He is the one, who has killed Siyeon Cha the most when playing the game and the one to be most careful of. Eckles was just a slave bought by Penelope that Siyeon Cha possessed, he is quiet and does not say much and just abides by orders.
What I liked:
This manhwa is honestly the greatest manhwa when it comes to villainess works. The author has done a great job at establishing character relationships and Penelope's psyche throughout. Penelope is a very complex character and the way she is written is amazing, I believe I am very connected to her and that she really strikes a cord in my heart. I personally love Callisto, he is such a bestie. At first I was like woah never going near him, but instead of being a brown bear he is a literal teddy bear. I love him so much that everytime he comes on screen I scream. I can't wait to see whats next of her and If you could, give this one a go and don't just discard it thinking its just your cliche villainess manhwa's. Though I do have to say the pacing may be a bit slow for people and that it is not completed, other then that though I love this manhwa from the bottom of my heart.

I HATE DERRICK BRO IS SO ANNOYING, LIKE HOW CAN YOU LIKE YOUR ADOPTIVE SISTER!?!?!? Seriously hes like my only op and I laughed when evil Leila was like "Your disgusting for liking your own sister" I cackled so hard I got in trouble for being to loud. However I was happy that he was not the male lead and Callisto my man was. Like did you see the way Callisto carried her when she decided she wanted to die, that man had fear in his eyes. BRO COULD NOT EXCUSE HIMSELF FOR NOT BEING IN LOVE WITH MY BEAUTIFUL GORGEUS AMAZING FEMALE LEAD PENELOPEEEEE. It did break my heart when she saw that his love meter was not 100% and said that love is just useless. Like have you seen my girl, she is like a goddess. Reynold atleast got his redemption, but Eckles bro... He fumbled so bad.
